As most of our followers should have noted by this point, alpacas do not have opposable thumbs – and while this saves us from them unlocking their gates and running loose, it also means they can’t operate nail scissors and leaves us to clip their nails.
They don’t love that.
But it’s done now. And all of our alpacas are much better off without getting their talons caught on something as they stroll through our paddocks.
In other news, our alpacas have been shuffled around – the breeding girls have been moved closer to the house so we can keep a better eye on them when they are closer to giving birth. The young non-wether boys have been moved in with our breeding males now – they grow up so fast!
